Hey there, I’m Cortney -

Registered Dietitian.

Founder.

Advocate.

The Food Body RD was born out of a random thought, even though it wasn’t so random in the long run. My husband and I have talked about opening up my own private practice, for years. But it was just one of those things you talk about, right?

My career as a dietitian has taken a unique path. I have spent my time specializing in behavioral and psychiatric care. From working at an outpatient mental health clinic, conducting in home appointments, providing inpatient and partial hospitalization eating disorder treatment, running a culinary medicine program aimed at supporting a food assistance budget - I have seen what works and I have seen what doesn’t.

The jobs I’ve held have given me a unique perspective on mental health, the real life barriers folks face, and just how personal a food journey is. And thats when the dream of opening up my own practice became a reality.

My hope for you, and all my clients, is that you live a life that is free from body image and food worries. There is a pattern of thinking in the behavioral health field known as “black and white thinking” - meaning that you think in extremes. All good or all bad. My belief is that everyone has a gray space, a sweet spot in the middle where freedom lives. My job is guide you there.

I’ve been intentionally building my business to offer a full service private practice. I currently offer outpatient eating disorder treatment, nutrition coaching for those with disordered eating patterns and body image issues, and meal planning/culinary services.

I hold a Masters degree from Marshall University and have held my dietitian certification for over five years. When I’m not working you can usually find me with my family, my husband, and my dog. I’m a lover of baking, pickle ball, traveling, and sending people pictures of my dog.
